Iowa Star Caitlin Clark Invited To NASCAR Race

It appears NCAA women's basketball and University of Iowa star Caitlin Clark could be taking over the NASCAR world soon.

Clark seems to be everywhere. And after breaking the NCAA basketball scoring record this past weekend, she has booked herself another big sponsor — which just happens to be a key cog in NASCAR as well.

According to Kameron Duncan from The Spun, the digital insurance platform Gainbridge — which also happens to be a sponsor for Spire Motorsports — announced this week that it had reached a partnership with Clark.

That partnership seems to have piqued Spire's interest in having Clark make a trip to Iowa Speedway later this year, as the NASCAR Cup Series makes its debut at the Newton track.

Spire reached out to the basketball superstar via social media.

"Happy to have you on the Gainbridge team, @CaitlinClark22, We hope to get you out to a race soon!" Spire Motorsports said on X. "We hear there's one in Iowa."

Spire has quickly grown quite popular among the fans of NASCAR; and if it can get Clark out to a race, that could be a huge boost.

Clark is so popular that she could be NASCAR's Taylor Swift, as Swift boosted the NFL this past season with her ongoing relationship with the Kansas City Chiefs' Travis Kelce.

NASCAR has been growing in popularity among significant athletes of other sports and even musicians over the past several years. To see that, one need look no further than Michael Jordan's 23XI Race team, NFL running back Alvin Kamara's involvement, and even music sensation Pitbull with his ownership stake in Trackhouse Racing.

Adding Clark into the fold could add yet another demographic to the NASCAR Cup Series.

Time will tell if Clark takes Spire up on its offer to come to the track. They now share a connection with a Gainbridge sponsorship, so who knows what an appearance by Clark could do for the team and NASCAR itself?
