Jimmie Johnson to Race in 2024 Daytona 500 and Brickyard 400

We will see even more of Jimmie Johnson on the NASCAR Cup Series circuit in 2024 as he adds two crown jewel events to his 2024 schedule.

Johnson will team up with sponsor Carvana once again for three more races this year: the Daytona 500, the Brickyard 400 and the season finale at Phoenix Raceway.

"I'm so proud to represent Carvana for a second NASCAR season, and our fourth season overall as partners, at some of my favorite races," Johnson said in a statement from the team. "Carvana is a fun brand that captures the joy of cars and racing and they do a great job leveraging their partnership with Legacy Motor Club. I'm excited to have a shot at another Daytona 500 trophy in our new Toyota Camry XSE's and the paint scheme is sure to be a fan favorite."

These three races bring Johnson's total of races this year to nine. That means we will see the soon-to-be Hall of Famer compete in a quarter of the races this season. This coming off a three-race season in 2023 for Johnson.

Johnson will look to win his third Daytona 500, tying Jeff Gordon, Denny Hamlin, Bobby Allison and Dale Jarrett. Johnson sits second all-time in wins at Indianapolis Motor Speedway with four, and he will look to tie Gordon with five wins at the famed speedway.

The addition of Johnson in the Daytona 500 will help the Toyota drivers as they get another car on the track. This means Toyota will have nine confirmed entries in "The Great American Race." The four Joe Gibbs Racing cars, two 23XI Racing cars and the three Legacy Motor Club cars will be able to form an alliance to try to get Toyota its first Harley J. Earl trophy since 2020.

Johnson is not slowing down anytime soon, and this deal with Carvana proves he is ready to keep racing in the NASCAR Cup Series.
