Trackhouse Racing's Shane van Gisbergen and Ross Chastain will both make select starts in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series while driving the No. 9 Chevrolet Camaro. JR Motorsports hasn't provided the schedule for either driver beyond saying that they will both make multiple starts.
Van Gisbergen made three starts in the No. 9 Chevrolet this season — Circuit of the Americas, Watkins Glen International, and Sonoma Raceway — while continuing a trend from 2025. He won at both Circuit of the Americas and Sonoma. He finished eighth at Watkins Glen.
Chastain made 10 starts in the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series — five with JR Motorsports — during the regular season.
He controlled the No. 9 at Darlington Raceway, Dover Motor Speedway, Charlotte Motor Speedway, Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and Iowa Speedway.
Chastain posted top-five finishes at Indianapolis and Iowa. He won at Charlotte after rain, fog, and other weather-related issues shortened the race to 91 laps.
Chastain and van Gisbergen are not the only drivers to control the No. 9 this season. Carson Kvapil made five starts in the entry before switching back to the No. 1 on a full-time basis. Jake Finch has made five starts in the entry while Lee Pulliam has made one.
Once again, the No. 9 Chevrolet will serve as the O'Reilly Auto Parts Series team's All-Star car. JR Motorsports has not provided the full schedule for this car, but the team has now named three of its drivers.
Spire Motorsports development driver Tristan McKee will also take over the entry later in the season. He will make his O'Reilly Series debut at Bristol Motor Speedway in August after turning 17, and then he will kick off a part-time schedule as part of a multi-year deal.
McKee's schedule will expand in 2028 with more starts. He will then compete full-time in 2029 after turning 18.
