According to a Tuesday press release, Haley will finish the final three seasons on the Cup Series schedule. He will then exit the No. 7 Chevrolet as he and Spire Motorsports both move forward on different paths.

Haley's history with Spire Motorsports dates back to the early days of the company. He made his first three Cup Series starts with Spire Motorsports in 2019, and he scored the team's lone Cup Series win in a rain-shortened race at Daytona International Speedway.

Haley moved to Kaulig Racing and Rick Ware Racing as his career progressed, but he ultimately returned in a rare midseason trade between Spire and RWR last season. He replaced Corey LaJoie in the No. 7 and finished out the season with Spire Motorsports. He then returned to the entry for this full season.

Haley's return to Spire Motorsports has not delivered the results either side hoped for. He has two top-10 finishes and one top-five in 33 races this season and an average finish of 22.1.

"This is a decision that was not taken lightly," said Spire Motorsports co-owner Jeff Dickerson in a press release. "Justin has been a member of the Spire family since he was a teenager. We've watched Justin grow from a young driver trying to make his mark in the sport to a proven winner.

"He helped strengthen our organization into what it is today. He made us winners and returned home after forging his own path in the Cup Series. Justin is the embodiment of a true racer who has quietly become a respected competitor within the NASCAR garage and will be an incredible asset to his next team."

Spire Motorsports did not provide details about the driver who will replace Haley in the No. 7 Chevrolet next season. One candidate mentioned by industry members is Daniel Suarez, who will not return to Trackhouse Racing.
