Kevin Harvick has had an up-and-down final season in the NASCAR Cup Series. With hopes of winning one more race quickly dwindling, the driver of the No. 4 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford, has five more races to try to accomplish that feat.
Following a disappointing disqualification at Talladega that took away a very close runner-up finish, Harvick has some goals he would like to accomplish in his final five races.
He spoke with Fox Sports' Bob Pockrass explaining how he had some goals he wants to accomplish in the final five races and what it will take to get those done.
"There's way more to it than just winning and losing," Harvick said. "It's the most interesting thing I've ever been a part of because there's so much more to it. And it would take me hours to sit here and explain it to everybody. Everything that comes with the whole picture this year is much more complex than a win or a loss in how you represent yourself and the things that you say, and the things that you do, and all that goes with it."
Harvick has battled inconsistency all season, or more so the whole Stewart-Haas organization has. He was able to make the playoffs but was eliminated after the first round. Obviously, Harvick has more on his mind than just winning one of the last five races of his career.
He has meant so much to the sport, it's going to be tough not to see the No. 4 find victory lane one more time before he is done. Harvick isn't letting that bother him. He's just happy to still be a focal point amongst the fans with all the playoff battles and drama happening each week.

That's what it comes down to when a driver is about to hang it up. Receiving thanks and appreciation from the fans helps a driver's legacy live on, and clearly, that's Harvick's hope at the end of his historic NASCAR career.
