Kyle Busch Could Make Debut in Supercars in 2024

Richard Childress Racing has been busy making deals with Erebus Motorsport who are the recent V8 Australian Supercars championship team with Brodie Kostecki. Kostecki will be doing some NASCAR Cup Series races in 2024, and now things might be going the other way as Kyle Busch could be making a trip to Australia to try his hand in a Supercar. RCR and Erebus look to be in discussion for a partnership that will see two-time Cup champion Busch enter the Adelaide 500 in 2024.

According to Stefan Bartholomaeus for V8Sleuth, this deal is real, and after Childress spent time in Adelaide to watch Kostecki win the championship, things look to be moving fairly quickly.

The Adelaide 500 is an Australian V8 Supercar race that takes place on the streets of Adelaide in South Australia. It is one of the premier events in the discipline and one of the most famous motorsport races in Australia.

Childress spoke about Busch's chances if he were to step into a Supercar.

"We've talked to him some about coming," Childress told reporters when he was in Australia. "I think he might one of these days. He'd enjoy this. The track's good, right the kind of racing that he'd like. I think he'd do good over here."

The Adelaide 500 doesn't typically allow wild-card entries or one-off racers, but Erebus team CEO Barry Ryan made it clear that it could happen.

"We were at the state dinner the other night and the (South Australian) Premier came up and said he wanted him (Childress) to bring Kyle Busch back next year, so I think we could make it happen," Ryan said.

It's clear, Busch is a popular driver in Australia. This is just another positive moment for NASCAR, as it continues to push itself into wider global popularity.
