Martin Truex Jr. mostly disappeared from the world of NASCAR after his retirement in 2024, but now he will return in a new role. He will join Prime Video's coverage of an upcoming Cup Series race.

Truex, who last made a one-off Daytona 500 start with Tricon Garage, will be one of five drivers joining Danielle Trotta and Corey LaJoie at the Prime Video desk. He will help provide analysis before and after the June 7 race at Michigan International Speedway.
This continues a trend from last season, Prime Video's first covering the NASCAR Cup Series. The streamer had Carl Edwards, Trotta, and LaJoie leading the at-track show during its five races. Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Steve Letarte also joined the desk after the race for interviews with race winners and other discussions.
Edwards will return this season, albeit in an altered role. He will be at the desk for the Coca-Cola 600 on May 25. He will then be remote for the remaining four Prime Video races.
Mark Martin will replace Edwards at the desk for the May 31 race at Nashville Superspeedway. Brad Keselowski will then have a role for the June 14 race at Pocono Raceway. Although he will alter his schedule to actually get in the car and attend the drivers meeting.
Jeff Gordon will round out the lineup. He will join the desk to provide analysis for the June 21 race on Naval Base Coronado while relying on his history as one of NASCAR's best road course racers.
Bringing in Truex is a fitting choice for Prime Video. The 2017 Cup Series champion made 694 starts during his career, and he drove for multiple teams while winning 34 races. He led more than 12,000 laps while regularly contending for wins.
Truex has extensive experience competing in the Gen 7 car, and he has 34 Cup Series starts at Michigan International Speedway. He will be able to showcase his knowledge of these subjects, as well as his knowledge of the competitors throughout the field, while providing analysis.
