The second-year Xfinity team announced the news with a Monday morning press release. Viking Motorsports noted that it will announce plans regarding its driver lineup for the 2026 season at a later date.

Connor Mosack will take over the No. 99 Viking Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro for the final three races of the Xfinity Series season.

"We'd like to thank Matt for his contributions throughout our inaugural season," General Manager Jeremy Lange said in a press release. "He played a meaningful role in establishing the foundation of this team, and we wish him the best."

Viking Motorsports made its foray into the NASCAR Xfinity Series last season. The team fielded the No. 38 Ford, which RSS Racing prepared. DiBenedetto drove the entry in 28 races and scored three top-10 finishes. This includes an eighth-place finish in the team's fourth start.

Viking Motorsports transitioned to a Chevrolet organization in 2025 while naming DiBenedetto the full-time driver of the No. 99. According to NASCAR's Dustin Albino, the team hired its first full-time employee ahead of the 2025 season and has since brought in more than a dozen full-time team members.

The veteran driver has since made 30 starts while posting an average finish of 23.1. He has seven DNFs this season due to a mix of crashes and car issues.

DiBenedetto has one top-five finish this season — at Talladega Superspeedway — and 12 top-20 finishes. His last start in the No. 99 Chevrolet ended in a 19th-place finish at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Mosack will now take over the entry while continuing a part-time schedule in the secondary series. The Charlotte native has made 31 career starts in the Xfinity Series while driving for multiple teams.

His schedule this season includes two starts for SS GreenLight Racing and one for JR Motorsports. Mosack's best finish was fifth at the Charlotte Roval.
