"The 2026 event was our best yet. Spectator attendance was tremendous on all three days to witness history made with the NASCAR Trucks racing for the first time on a street circuit and IndyCar kicking off its season once again," said Kim Green, co-owner, chairman and CEO of Green Savoree Racing Promotions.
"We look forward to having both of these series back together on track for our fans to enjoy at the 23rd annual Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg weekend."
The Streets of St. Petersburg have long served host to the top drivers in IndyCar. These streets have featured more than 20 races over the years with such drivers as Paul Tracy, Dan Wheldon, Will Power, Dario Franchitti, and Helio Castroneves celebrating wins.
Alex Palou, the defending champion of the series, has won the last two races on the Streets of St. Petersburg. Last year, he led 59 of the 100 laps before celebrating the win.
The Craftsman Truck Series teams, for comparison, only have one trip to the temporary Florida circuit. Layne Riggs won this season's inaugural race on the circuit after leading 41 laps.
This trip to St. Petersburg marked his first of four wins this season and the first of two on a street circuit. He also won the race on Naval Base Coronado.
