This memorial will take place on Friday, Oct. 9, at Charlotte Motor Speedway after the Craftsman Truck Series race. It will remain free and open for anyone who wants to come honor Busch, who passed away on May 21 at the age of 41.

The family and close friends of Busch previously held a private funeral. This ceremony in October will provide a way for countless others to reflect on his life and his impact on motorsports.

The time of the ceremony is not yet official; the Truck Series race will take place at 5 p.m. ET. The number of cautions will play a role in how quickly the drivers will complete the race.

NASCAR also has other pieces of information to provide in the coming weeks. The sanctioning body noted it will release details about speakers and logistics among other things.

The months since Busch's sudden passing have featured countless people celebrating the champion's life in myriad ways. Many drivers have put decals on their cars while also wearing pieces of his merchandise during public appearances.

Competitors across multiple series have also performed his signature bow after winning the races following his death. Denny Hamlin completed celebratory burnouts at Michigan International Speedway while holding a custom flag celebrating his former teammate.

Competitors in other racing series have honored Busch by running tribute schemes or by switching the number fonts on their cars to match his.

Fans have made trips to Richard Childress Racing and other places related to Busch so that they could leave flowers and other tributes to him.

Bubba Wallace has continued to run the "Rowdy" name above the door on his Cup Series car. He has also put a Busch hat in the center of his helmet wall at his home.

"Ever since Charlotte weekend it's been sitting there," Wallace said at Chicagoland Speedway. "There's a poker table and right next to the wall. It's just been sitting there and I've been meaning to find a place for it. There was a Columbia helmet that was sitting there so it got moved to another spot. I just felt like it was nice to put it as a centerpiece on the helmet wall.

"I mentioned in my helmet wall post months ago, I've never really wanted to trade with anybody. (Ryan) Blaney was at the top of the list for awhile. He was bugging me for years and finally got one of his and (Scott) McGloughlin, so I thought it would be fitting to do something different with the KB hat and how much he meant to my career. So it felt good and cool to do that."
