According to arrest records, Lauren, 38, was taken into custody in Iredell County, North Carolina, around 12:05 p.m. on Feb. 20. Authorities set her bond at $2,500.

The Iredell County Sheriff's Office did not initially provide details about the nature of the alleged crime or about the investigation.

North Carolina law classifies felony larceny as the unlawful taking away or carrying property from its original location without the consent of the owner. North Carolina prosecution must also prove that the defendant had the intent of permanently depriving the owner of their property.

The felony aspect comes into play with the value of the item. Larceny of goods or property worth between $1,000 and $1,500 takes the crime to a Class H felony.

One law firm notes that the potential punishment for this crime is up to 39 months in prison. Although aggravating factors or prior convictions could increase the time spent behind bars.

Crafton, a California native, set records during his Craftsman Truck Series career. He started 592 races over a 26-year stretch. Once he went full-time in 2001, he never missed a start while winning 15 races and three championships.

The veteran driver is the only person in Truck Series history to start more than 400 races. He is also the only one to start more than 500 races. Ron Hornaday Jr. is second on the all-time starts list with 360. Crafton also leads the series with 333 top-10 finishes, 99 more than Hornaday.

While Crafton was a mainstay in the Truck Series, he chose to step away after the 2025 season. He retired from full-time competition so that he could go have some fun competing on dirt tracks and in other arenas. He said he would still support ThorSport Racing, but he would not drive the No. 88 Menards entry any more.
