Porsche Penske Motorsport won the Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway on Jan. 24-25 after a dominant effort. Julien Andlauer, Laurin Heinrich, and Felipe Nasr shared the No. 7 Porsche 963 and delivered Penske its third consecutive GTP class win.

This tied the record of the most consecutive Rolex 24 wins, matching Wayne Taylor Racing (2019-2021) and Chip Ganassi Racing (2006-2008).

"Three in a row," Nasr said while fighting back tears. "It's just a very special day. I dreamed of that. I knew we had a great car, I knew we had a great team."

The driver lineup has changed over the years, but one wheelman has remained for all three wins. Nasr has been in control of the Porsche 963 all three seasons while celebrating a prestigious win, and he played possibly the biggest role on Sunday afternoon.

While the Porsche Penske Motorsport entry had control of the race on Sunday, another driver in the GTP class had an upset in mind. Jack Aitken, who controlled the No. 31 Whelen Action Express Cadillac, made a late charge to fight for the lead.

Aitken pulled up to Nasr's bumper on multiple occasions, and he even attempted a daring pass in Turn 1 with 20 minutes remaining in the 24-hour race. However, Nasr threw a block and remained in the lead while avoiding contact.

Once Aitken had to check up, he fell out of contention for the race. Nasr built up a lead of 1.569 seconds and then he took the white flag for the final time. He raced to the checkered flag and then headed to victory lane to celebrate the emotional win.

Aitken and the No. 31 team, which included Connor Zilisch, had to settle for a podium finish. This group just fell short of capturing one of the biggest prizes in motorsports, which would have marked Zilisch's second Rolex 24 win.
