CONCORD, N.C. — Ryan Preece answered a lingering question as he walked into the Charlotte Motor Speedway media center on Saturday — did he ever find the door to his Ford Bronco?

"Yeah I did," Preece told FanBuzz. "Chris (Buescher) made me drive to the airport, and then we put it on at the airport. So sorry, Avis, but your Ford Bronco does have a door back on it."
Preece posted a video on social media last weekend showing a bit of a predicament — his rental Ford Bronco did not have a door. Not a great thing considering that he had to return to the SUV to the rental lot.
It turned out that his teammate was the thief. Buescher had used a tool from the No. 60 hauler and removed the passenger door on the Bronco, which Preece left unlocked. He then hid the door where no one could discover it until the right time.
"I locked it in the trunk of my rental car," Buescher told FanBuzz. "I lock my doors, so he could not get it back and I made sure that he had to drive to the airport door-less.
"I almost made him drive back topless, but I figured I couldn't get that off quick enough. We just took the one door for the time being."

Preece vowed revenge, but he has not yet made his move. He continues putting plans in place as he determines when he will strike. After all, five races remain in the season, so he has plenty of time.
This prank war is just getting started.
"I keep telling him, watch your back, bud," Preece said while smiling. "Make sure your truck's locked at all times. I'm not entirely sure how I'm going to do it yet, or when I'm going to do it, but there will be something."
Buescher had heard these threats, and he has responded accordingly. He has taken some precautions to avoid losing a door or suffering another fate.
"I'm trying to drive something different every day so Ryan can't track me," Buescher said. "I've been a little nervous, for sure."
The prank war started with Preece as the victim. It will inevitably continue with Buescher taking some lumps. What happens after that?
Do the two RFK Racing drivers keep going back and forth with these friendly hijinks, or do they expand the operation to target teammate/team co-owner Brad Keselowski? Does Keselowski need to put some rules in place to avoid this outcome?
"No, I think they just know better," Keselowski said. "Yeah, I'm glad to see Ryan and Chris having fun, but victory lane's a lot more fun than the games, so I'm focused on that."
