According to the weekly rosters, jackman Landon Honeycutt is no longer on the No. 12 team. He departs the team after last weekend's trip to Bristol Motor Speedway, and he heads to the No. 21 team of Josh Berry.
Patrick Gray, who served as the jackman on the No. 21 team, was set to take over as the jackman on the No. 12 team. However, he can not compete this weekend at Kansas Speedway due to personal reasons.
Now, the team will pull Graham Stoddard from the No. 4 team at Front Row Motorsports. Stoddard previously worked on the No. 22 and No. 21 teams before moving to the No. 4. Tommy Bebie will then move from the No. 51 team to the No. 4 team to replace Stoddard.
The pit crew has been under the spotlight after multiple issues on pit road have dropped Blaney out of contention for the win. Last weekend, the team lost several spots for various reasons. Fox Sports analyst Larry McReynolds even said at one point during the race that this crew had lost 30 more spots on pit road than any other in the Cup Series.
Racing Insights provided more in-depth data. The trusted statisticians said that Blaney's crew has lost a net 88 positions. The next on the list is the No. 1 crew of Ross Chastain and Trackhouse Racing, which has lost a net 57 positions.
"We got to get better," Blaney said after finishing second at Bristol Motor Speedway. "We got to get better, for sure. If we're going to keep competing and have cars that can win races and stuff, we've got to clean that up."
Despite the struggles, Blaney has won at Phoenix and delivered top-three finishes at Darlington and Bristol. He just hasn't been able to add more victories to his total.
The 2023 Cup Series champion currently ranks second in the standings behind Tyler Reddick, who has a series-high four wins. Blaney is 62 points out of first place after eight races. Blaney has a series-high 81 stage points and the third-most laps led this season (244). He just hasn't been able to overcome all of the issues on pit road.
