Logano qualified second with a lap of 30.851 seconds. This marks his fifth front-row start at the Georgia track since the reconfiguration into a mini-superspeedway.
The rest of the top 10 included Kyle Larson (30.902), Austin Dillon (30.904), Daniel Suarez (30.910), Alex Bowman (30.933), Chase Elliott (30.937), Austin Cindric (30.939), Ross Chastain (30.976), and Brad Keselowski (31.019).
Tyler Reddick, the winner of this season's spring race at the Georgia track, will start 31st in the field after posting a lap of 31.306 seconds. He will line up next to Christopher Bell, who continues to recover from a fractured left wrist.
The Cup Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway will take place on Sunday at 7 p.m. ET. TNT and truTV will provide coverage for the mini-superspeedway event with Adam Alexander, Steve Letarte, and Dale Earnhardt Jr. in the booth.
This race could be pivotal for the Ford drivers, considering that Blaney is the only one to visit victory lane this season. He won the spring race at Phoenix Raceway in March. The other 18 races this season have featured either Toyota or Chevrolet drivers celebrating.
Winning the pole doesn't guarantee that Blaney will automatically control the race and put himself in contention for his second win this season, but it will give him access to clean air early. This is paramount at drafting tracks.
"It's nice that Joey and I are starting up there at the front," Blaney said. "We'll try to organize the start of the race the best we can to figure out what's the best way to kind of get together quick, but yeah, it's nice to have some friends around."
