The crash happened entering turn 3 with 8 laps to go. A spot on the track we have grown accustomed to seeing big wrecks happening at Daytona International Speedway.
It appeared contact caused by a push from Alex Bowman in the No. 48 to William Byron in the No. 24 turned Byron down into the No. 6 of Brad Keselowski. This turned Keselowski back across the field collecting many drivers.
There were more cars involved in the wreck than those that avoided it. Turn 3 looked like a junkyard. 18 cars in total were involved in the crash.
Top contenders all day, such as Joey Logano, Brad Keselowski, Ryan Blaney, Denny Hamlin and Martin Truex, were involved in the incident, which included several other cars.
The red flag has waved as a result of incident for the extensive clean up needed to get the race back going without wasting laps.
The cars involved in the accident are:
No. 5 Kyle Larson
No. 6 Brad Keselowski
No. 10 Noah Gragson
No. 11 Denny Hamlin
No. 12 Ryan Blaney

Ross Chastain is the leader of the Daytona 500 with 8 laps to go. He has Hendrick Motorsports teammates William Byron, Alex Bowman, and Chase Elliott in the top 5 behind him.
One name to look for is Kyle Busch. He has gone from the back to the front multiple times in this race and he currently sits in the top 10. Busch will not set his sights on finally winning the Daytona 500.
With 8 laps to go in the Daytona 500, all bets are off when it comes to winning the Harley J. Earl Trophy.
