Joe Gibbs Racing taps Toyota prospect for O'Reilly ride

The No. 19 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota GR Supra will have a new driver for the majority of the 2026 O'Reilly Auto Parts Series season. Toyota development driver Brent Crews will continue his rise up the ladder while taking on nearly the entire season.

Crews, who won four of his nine ARCA Menards Series starts last season, will make his series debut at Circuit of the Americas on Feb. 28. A recent rule change made it possible for the 17-year-old to compete on road courses and at oval tracks 1.25 miles or shorter.

Once Crews turns 18 on March 30, he will become the full-time driver of the No. 19 Toyota GR Supra. This timeline means he will miss the season-opening race at Daytona International Speedway, the February race at EchoPark Speedway outside of Atlanta, the spring race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and the spring race at Darlington Raceway.

The rules should make it possible for Crews to compete at both Phoenix Raceway (1 mile) and Martinsville Speedway (.526 miles) before he turns 18. These starts will help him compete for Rookie of the Year honors.

"I'm grateful for the opportunity to be able to race with a winning organization and Toyota," Crews said in a press release. "I've learned a lot so far with the ARCA program and at the track with the No. 19 team.

"I have a lot to prepare for this season, but I feel confident with all the resources that JGR and Toyota provide to help with an easy transition."

Joe Gibbs Racing noted that Seth Chavka will continue to lead the No. 19 team as Crews takes over the entry. Chavka has guided O'Reilly Auto Parts Series teams for Joe Gibbs Racing since the start of the 2024 season.

He has been atop the pit box for 64 races while celebrating four wins with Aric Almirola — three last season. The No. 19 team also won the owner's championship last season as Chavka worked with seven different drivers.
