Tyler Reddick joins elite NASCAR list with 2026 wins

Tyler Reddick has completely rebounded from a difficult 2025 season in which he went winless. He has joined an elite NASCAR list by winning the Daytona 500 and Sunday's Cup Series race at EchoPark Speedway.

The driver of the No. 45 23XI Racing Toyota Camry XSE became only the sixth driver in NASCAR history to win the first two races of the season. He became the first driver since Matt Kenseth in 2009 to achieve this feat.

The rest of the list includes Marvin Panch in 1957, Bob Welborn in 1959, David Pearson in 1976, and Jeff Gordon in 1997.

He also did so after being collected in a wreck started by Joey Logano getting into Denny Hamlin. Reddick didn't have a right front fender, but it didn't matter. He had Toyota teammate Chase Briscoe pushing him on the final lap.

"I can't really say anything," an emotional Michael Jordan told Fox Sports. "Tyler did an unbelievable job. I mean, both teams did an unbelievable job.

"Look, I wanted one of them to win. I feel bad for Bubba, obviously, because he had an unbelievable day. Tyler drove his ass off."

Just like the Daytona 500, Reddick was not the driver to watch as the end of the race approached. 23XI Racing teammate Bubba Wallace had control of the restart in both overtime attempts, and he just needed a push from Reddick to stay ahead of an ultra-aggressive Carson Hocevar.

The teammates worked together for a few moments to start the first overtime attempt. The caution quickly flew as Hocevar sent Christopher Bell into the outside wall trying to force his car three-wide in the middle.

Once the field lined up again, Reddick pushed Wallace clear of Hocevar. The driver of the No. 23 then moved up the track to block Hocevar, but he ended up three-wide on the outside. He fell back toward the back half of the top 10 as other drivers battled for the win.

Hocevar almost cleared for the lead, but he had no help from behind. Reddick, however, had Briscoe. The two Toyota teammates remained nose-to-tail after taking the white flag and they never looked back.

Reddick crossed the finish line for his second win in a row while Briscoe finished second. Ross Chastain, Hocevar, Daniel Suarez, Shane van Gisbergen, Zane Smith, Wallace, Ryan Preece, and Ryan Blaney rounded out the top 10.
