Brexton, the oldest child of the two-time Cup Series champion, used the emotional night as a way to honor his father. He climbed into the No. 8 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet and performed a massive burnout at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

The moment occurred at the end of the Celebration of Life at the 1.5-mile track. He donned his firesuit and drove the blue Lucas Oil Chevrolet, showcasing the same scheme that Busch used to win the final race at Auto Club Speedway in 2023.

As Brexton performed the burnout, mother Samantha and younger sister Lennix stood in the infield grass. Once he climbed from the No. 8 Chevrolet, Lennix and Samantha handed him a victory flag. He stood atop the car and then performed the signature bow that his late father made famous over the decades.

This burnout closed out a celebration of life in which numerous people came together to share their memories of Busch. Fox Sports play-by-play man Mike Joy hosted, and he interviewed several people about Busch.

The ceremony featured a segment with Hall of Famer Kurt Busch, who spoke about their childhood in Las Vegas and how both brothers made their way to NASCAR.

Coach Joe Gibbs, the team owner for whom Busch won two championships, gave a speech about the days working together at Joe Gibbs Racing.

Christopher Bell, Noah Gragson, and Daniel Suarez spoke about racing for Busch at Kyle Busch Motorsports. Kyle Larson also took part in an interview while talking about the similarities between the elder Busch and Brexton.

Former teammate Austin Dillon, who Richard Childress says taught Brexton how to do the burnout, gave a speech and talked about bringing Busch to the team.

Samantha then took to the stage and gave a speech to the fans, who showed up en masse to show their support. The Celebration of Life then closed out with the massive burnout and a special drone show.
