The duo will partner with JR Motorsports for this part-time schedule. They will share the No. 9 Chevrolet Camaro that previously featured such drivers as Noah Gragson and Brandon Jones.
Chastain will make five starts in the No. 9 JR Motorsports Chevrolet, starting with Circuit of the Americas on March 1. His schedule will continue with Darlington Raceway on April 5, Nashville Superspeedway on May 31, Dover Motor Speedway on July 19, and Iowa Speedway on Aug. 2.
Van Gisbergen will take over the Xfinity Series car for four races as he moves up to the Cup Series with Trackhouse Racing. He will kick off his schedule at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City on May 14. He will also drive the No. 9 on the streets of Chicago on July 5, at Sonoma Raceway on July 12, and at Watkins Glen International on Aug. 9.
"I'm trying to get as much experience as I can," van Gisbergen said in a press release. "JR Motorsports is one of the top teams and won the championship with Justin Allgaier. I can't wait to get started."
This deal featuring van Gisbergen and Chastain only continues the partnership between Trackhouse Racing and JR Motorsports. Connor Zilisch, a member of the Trackhouse roster, will drive full-time for JR Motorsports in 2025 as he competes for Rookie of the Year.
Van Gisbergen competed full-time in the Xfinity Series last season while making the move to NASCAR. He drove for Kaulig Racing and made the playoffs. He scored wins at Portland International Raceway, Sonoma Raceway, and on the streets of Chicago.
Van Gisbergen ended the season 12th in the standings after late-season issues led to an early elimination from the playoffs.
Chastain, for comparison, has competed in a select number of Xfinity races since 2021 while primarily focusing on his Cup career. He made one start for SS Green Light Racing in 2021 and then he made five starts in 2022 split between DGM Racing and Big Machine Racing.
Chastain continued his relationship with DGM Racing in 2023-24 as he made 11 more starts in the Xfinity Series.
