The first is Matt McCall, who takes over as Director of Vehicle Performance. The second is Dax Gerringer, who takes over as Technical Director for the three-car team. Both are veterans of the industry who most recently worked with Ford Performance Teams.
Moving forward, McCall and Gerringer will work directly with Competition Director Ryan Sparks. They will also support crew chiefs Rodney Childers, Travis Peterson, and Luke Lambert.
McCall spent the last three seasons as the crew chief for Brad Keselowski at RFK Racing. He celebrated one win at Darlington Raceway and guided the No. 6 team to two playoff appearances.
McCall's crew chief tenure also includes four seasons with Jamie McMurray and three seasons with Kurt Busch at Chip Ganassi Racing. He celebrated three wins with Busch between 2019-21, a list that includes the final intermediate race at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
"I am really excited and grateful for this opportunity," McCall said in a statement. "Spire Motorsports' upward trajectory has been impressive and I look forward to becoming part of the success. I've had a long relationship with (Jeff) Dickerson and I've known him for close to 25 years.
"I got to know him when he was doing driver representation, and I was trying to carve out a career as a driver. We built a great relationship and have always stayed in communication. The way things panned out, there was an opportunity to come to Spire. We always wanted to work together, and the timing was right."
Gerringer has spent the last nine seasons at Stewart-Haas Racing. He most recently served as the lead engineer on the No. 4 team that featured Kevin Harvick and then Josh Berry as drivers.
Gerringer will reunite with Childers with his move to Spire Motorsports and his involvement on the competition team. Childers, who won the 2014 title with Harvick, will take over the No. 7 team in 2025.
"This is a great addition for our team and one that means a lot to me, personally," said Spire Motorsports co-owner Jeff Dickerson in a statement.
"Matt is a longtime friend, one of my first handful of NASCAR clients I had when I was a young agent, and we've always shared the same view of how race cars work and race teams operate. I'm happy the stars finally aligned for us to work together, and I look forward to adding him to an already impressive group for 2025."
