Dangerous street racing has led to two frightening crashes in recent weeks, and both were caught on video.

In one incident in Long Beach, California, police say a juvenile driver lost control while allegedly racing another vehicle at speeds estimated between 90 and 100 mph.
According to authorities, the driver was traveling alongside another car when she crashed, sending her vehicle rolling over before it came to rest on its side near a concrete wall. The second vehicle reportedly fled the scene.
Video taken moments afterward shows the visibly shaken driver standing near the wreckage before emergency crews arrived. She was later taken to a local hospital with injuries that police described as non-life-threatening.

The crash also damaged a traffic signal control box, knocking out lights at the intersection.
A separate street racing crash in Reno, Nevada, had even more devastating consequences.
Police say a Porsche 911 GTS and an Audi RS5 were allegedly racing late at night when both vehicles ran a red light and slammed into a Toyota pickup truck carrying six people.
Video circulating online appears to show the two high-performance cars speeding side-by-side just before the violent collision.
All six occupants of the pickup were hospitalized, including an 84-year-old passenger who remained in critical condition following the crash. The drivers of the Porsche and Audi, along with the Audi's passenger, were also hospitalized.
Authorities have not announced whether charges will be filed as the investigation continues.
While the crashes occurred hundreds of miles apart, they serve as another reminder of how quickly alleged street racing can turn into a life-altering tragedy—not only for those behind the wheel, but for innocent people who happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
