The Beginning of a New Era: RCR Unveils New Sponsors, Paint Schemes for Kyle Busch

On Thursday, Kyle Busch turned another page in his new chapter with Richard Childress Racing, as the team announced Busch's sponsors and paint scheme for the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season. Alsco, BetMGM, Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen, Lenovo, and 3Chi will return as the primary sponsors on the No. 8 Chevrolet.

"Our business relationships are paramount to our organization and we're proud to confirm that our primary partners on the No. 8 team will be returning to RCR in 2023," RCR president Torrey Galida said in a statement. "Their commitment to our organization is a testament to our team's collaborative approach and the value it has delivered to so many great brands."

John Felton, Senior Director of Marketing for Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen added, "We've loved partnering with RCR and the No. 8 race team since our debut into the sport three years ago, and we're just getting started."

"We're excited to welcome Kyle Busch and Rowdy Nation to the Cheddar's family, and we look forward to celebrating many wins to come."

While unveiling a few of Busch's paint schemes for next year, RCR also revealed a slightly updated style to the No. 8 car. With input from RCR and Richard Childress himself, Busch designed the font for his new team's ride.

According to an RCR press release, "the revised number honors the past while embracing the future and the new era that Busch's presence brings to the 54-year-old organization, essentially merging one of the NASCAR industry's most storied teams with one of the sports' most successful modern-era drivers."

From an organizational standpoint, the No. 8 team will remain the same as this past season. Crew chief Randall Burnett and spotter Derek Kneeland, who recently worked with Reddick, will stay onboard.

The significance of Kyle Busch's transition from Joe Gibbs Racing to Richard Childress Racing, specifically from a pure numbers perspective, certainly isn't lost on anyone who's closely followed the two-time Cup champ's career. Of Busch's 642 starts in the Cup Series, 528 of them came while he drove the No. 18 Toyota for JGR. On top of that, 56 of his 60 Cup wins, and, of course, both titles, as well as 30 of his 32 career poles have come driving for JGR and Toyota.

Despite his incredible success with JGR over the years, Busch is committed to accomplishing a feat that has eluded RCR for nearly 30 years: winning a Cup Series title.
