According to Trackhouse Racing, Red Bull will serve as the primary sponsor of Shane van Gisbergen's No. 88 Chevrolet in five races this season. The official beverage company of Trackhouse will also join Connor Zilisch at Circuit of the Americas as he makes his Cup Series debut on March 2.

Van Gisbergen's Red Bull races will be at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (March 16), Sonoma Raceway (July 13), Iowa Speedway (Aug. 3), Daytona International Speedway (Aug. 23), and Kansas Speedway (Sept. 28).

As part of the announcement, Trackhouse Racing also revealed that Zilisch will drive the No. 87 Chevrolet Camaro in his Cup Series debut.

Zilisch and van Gisbergen are already part of the beverage company's family of athletes. Zilisch joined last fall while van Gisbergen joined in 2016. Now, however, Red Bull is a major part of the Trackhouse Racing family.

"It's an incredible chapter in the history of Trackhouse Racing to welcome Red Bull back to NASCAR," said Trackhouse founder and owner Justin Marks in a statement. "Red Bull is one of the most powerful brands in the world and it's an honor for us to embark on a partnership with such an iconic company.

"Red Bull and Trackhouse share a passion for racing, stories, and memorable experiences. This is a huge win for our sport and a moment that will resonate with the millions of NASCAR fans around the world. I'm thrilled for Connor, Shane, and every member of Trackhouse to partner with who I consider to be the greatest motorsport company in the world. We are more than honored to welcome Red Bull to the Trackhouse Racing family."

Red Bull was a part of NASCAR in the mid-2000s after the company's founders, Dietrich Mateschitz and Chaleo Yoovidhya, formed a Cup Series team. They started as part of the Dodge family in 2006 while failing to qualify for any races. The team switched to Toyota in 2007. They remained a Toyota team until closing in 2011.

Brian Vickers was Red Bull Racing's primary driver from 2007-11, and he delivered the team's first win at Michigan International Speedway in 2009.

Several other drivers also competed for the team. The list includes AJ Allmendinger, Scott Speed, Kasey Kahne, Reed Sorenson, Mike Skinner, Boris Said, Cole Whitt, Casey Mears, and Mattias Ekstrom. Kahne won the only other race in team history at Phoenix Raceway in 2011.

Prior to forming a team, the beverage company also sponsored Robby Gordon in select Xfinity Series races. This included at Mexico City and Watkins Glen in 2005.

Partnering with Trackhouse Racing provides Red Bull with another opportunity to compete in NASCAR. This time, the company will do so as a sponsor while supporting one driver who has already won at the Cup level and another who appears destined for future trips to victory lane.

"I have enjoyed a lot of new experiences and met a lot of new people since coming to NASCAR but it is nice to be joined by Red Bull who has been a big supporter of mine for many years back home," said van Gisbergen.

"I'd love nothing more than to give Red Bull a victory as a way to thank them for joining myself, Connor, and Trackhouse Racing."
