WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Ty Gibbs just delivered a wild moment at Bowman Gray Stadium while attempting to retaliate against another NASCAR Cup Series driver.

The Joe Gibbs Racing driver rammed Spire Motorsports' Justin Haley under caution on Sunday night in an effort to show his displeasure. Gibbs had spun through the infield and brought out the caution after contact with Haley.

"I just had a little left-front damage and gave him a little tap," Gibbs told media members at his hauler after the race. He continued and said that the landing was "a little stiff. They're all a little stiff."
Haley departed the track before media members could speak to him about the multiple on-track incidents.
While Gibbs had a smile on his face after the incident, it was unlikely that he was happy with how the Last Chance Qualifying race played out.
At one point, he had an opportunity to punch his ticket to Sunday's night main event. He led 18 laps after starting on the second row. He also spent time in the garage area after jumping his No. 54 Toyota Camry XSE like it was an episode of "The Dukes of Hazzard."
Gibbs ultimately finished 14th and two laps behind the leaders. He failed to advance to the 200-lap main event. Instead, Kyle Larson punched his ticket by winning the Last Chance Qualifying. Josh Berry finished second and secured his spot. Ryan Blaney took the final spot using the points provisional.
Ty Gibbs was far from the only driver visiting the garage area during the Last Chance Qualifying. Burt Myers had an early exit after Ricky Stenhouse Jr. spun him into the outside wall. Tim Brown had to temporarily go to the garage for repairs.
Erik Jones also went to the garage with significant damage to the front of the No. 43 Toyota. Like Gibbs, Jones had an opportunity to win the LCQ before another driver took it away.
