Herbst had a lead of 5.3 seconds in the closing laps of the race. However, the caution flew with three laps remaining as Leland Honeyman Jr. spun. This sent the race to overtime and sent all of the drivers down pit road for whatever tires they had left.
Austin Hill took the lead off pit road with a two-tire stop while Hebst lost two spots. He lined up on the second row on the first overtime restart but could not make the passes he needed. However, he got a second chance as Parker Retzlaff hit the wall and brought out the caution.
Herbst lined up on the second row for double overtime. Justin Allgaier and Jesse Love were ahead of him. The field went three-wide as the members of this trio tried to make a race-winning pass. They all collided before Allgaier squirted to the lead.

Herbst hit the wall, but he moved into second place and began chasing down the JR Motorsports driver. His tire smoked from hitting Love, but he did not let up. He continued to chase down Allgaier before making the pass in the final turn. He crossed the finish line in the No. 98 Ford Mustang and performed a monster (pun intended) burnout.
