The former U.S. women's national team star revealed she's expecting her second child while preparing to help lead Fox Sports' coverage of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Lloyd, a two-time Women's World Cup champion, will serve as one of the network's studio analysts throughout the tournament alongside fellow soccer greats Alexi Lalas, Clint Dempsey and Landon Donovan.

Speaking with PEOPLE, Lloyd admitted balancing pregnancy with work and family hasn't been easy.

"This is a little bit different being pregnant while also having a toddler," Lloyd said. "It's very exhausting, to say the least, but worth every bit of it. We're really excited."

Lloyd and her husband, Brian Hollins, are already parents to daughter Harper, who is 19 months old.

The 43-year-old said covering a World Cup in the United States is something she never envisioned when she retired from professional soccer in 2023.

"When I finished playing in 2023, not one percent of me had going into TV and being on this side of things on my radar," Lloyd said. "This is such a unique opportunity, not only to cover a World Cup, but a home World Cup in the U.S."

Preparing for the tournament has been a major undertaking.

Lloyd said she began studying about a month before the competition, organizing binders filled with notes on each team, playing style and key players while relying on Fox Sports' research staff to help get ready for the event's 104 matches.

After starring on the field during her playing career, Lloyd is now set to experience the sport's biggest stage from a different perspective.

This time, she'll be analyzing the action while also preparing for another major milestone away from the pitch: welcoming the newest member of her growing family.
