Ronaldo, who represented Portugal during the 2026 World Cup, revealed the news with a simple post on Instagram. He posted a photo showing wedding rings. He wrote "C (heart emoji) G" in the caption while tagging Georgina Rodriguez.
The Associated Press also confirmed the wedding with a story. The outlet noted that Ronaldo and Rodriguez exchanged their vows in a civil ceremony in Cascais, Portugal. A spokesperson said their five children attended the intimate wedding.
This wedding happens after the couple spent a decade dating. They first met in Madrid and have since become a prominent power couple.
The wedding also occurs before Ronaldo kicks off another portion of his busy schedule. He will join the Saudi team, Al Nassr, for the start of its domestic season on Saturday.
Months before celebrating his wedding, Ronaldo appeared in the World Cup, his record-tying sixth time representing his home country in the event. He scored three goals during the tournament, including his first-ever goal in the knockout stages.
But while Ronaldo continued to produce big moments during the World Cup, that doesn't mean that he will be back in action in 2030 when Portugal, Spain, and Morocco serve as the host countries. In fact, he said that 2026 would be his final time in the World Cup.
"The day will come, but I'll be honest, Cristiano will leave with a clear conscience, not 100%, but 1000%," he said after the tournament, per CBS Sports.
"Because I've given everything in soccer. I don't need it, I have a good life, but it's about passion. I play football because I love it... You have to enjoy every day. And I've scored three goals so far. I'm not doing too badly, right?"
