The bitter divorce between soccer star Mauro Icardi and Wanda Nara has taken another turn, and this one went Icardi's way.

An Italian court has rejected an appeal involving Nara's reported demands for a massive financial settlement from her estranged husband, according to The Sun.

Icardi, 33, announced the ruling himself in a lengthy post on Instagram Stories.

"Over here, it's all good news," Icardi wrote. "There has been a new ruling."

According to Icardi, Nara sought ?250,000 per month for herself, another ?65,000 per month for each of their two daughters and ?100,000 per month as part of the divorce settlement.

Icardi said a judge rejected those requests on June 1. An appeal followed, but according to the soccer star, an Italian court declared it inadmissible on July 27.

"This effectively puts an end to all claims and demands," Icardi wrote, adding that one final step remains before the divorce judgment is finalized.

Icardi and Nara married in 2014 and share two daughters, Francesca and Isabella. Their relationship became tabloid fodder long before the divorce proceedings, with breakups, reconciliations and allegations of infidelity playing out publicly.

Nara announced in 2022 that the couple had separated.

Icardi, an Argentina international who has played for Inter Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and Galatasaray, made it clear he views the latest ruling as vindication.

"It's good to see that the Italian justice system works," he wrote.

The divorce itself, however, isn't quite finished yet.
