Video: Angry Turkish Soccer Fans Storm Field, Brawl With Players

One good way to get your butt kicked is to start a fight with a professional athlete.

Some fans of the Turkish soccer club Trabzonspor learned that the hard way — after they stormed the field following a 3-2 home loss to Fenerbahce. Those fans decided if you couldn't beat the opponent, well, you may as well try to beat it up.

They appeared to lose that particular match, too.

More specifically, Fenerbahce players such as Bright Osayi-Samuel and Michy Batshuayi were among those captured on video giving a beating to some of the rowdy Trabzonspor fans. Batshuayi even used his foot — a specialty for the game in which he plays — to take down one fan.

Security tried to restore order, but honestly, to no avail.

Needless to say, FIFA President Gianni Infantino was not happy.

"The violence witnessed after the Turkish Super Lig match between Trabzonspor and Fenerbahce is absolutely unacceptable — on or off the field, it has no place in our sport or society," Infantino said in a statement.
"All players have to be safe and secure to play the game which brings such joy to so many people all over the world."... "I call on the relevant authorities to ensure that this is respected at all levels and for the perpetrators of the shocking events in Trabzon to be held accountable for their actions."

So far, 12 fans have been detained for their role in the brawl, Turkish officials said.

In short, next time you decide to take on a professional soccer player, you may want to use your head — because they just might decide to use their feet. Then you're really in trouble.
