Oh, you thought madness was just for the fellas? No, no, no. This year's women's tournament has been nothing short of cinema. Did y'all see that most recent LSU vs, Iowa game? Man Caitlin Clark was just toying with the defense, pulling up from the parking lot like that. And this South Carolina vs. NC State game is shaping up to be just as good a game. I mean, it is the Final Four after all. NC State's been on a roll but Indiana showcased that they can be beaten, and honestly, I think NC State is the team to do it.
South Carolina is probably the odds-on favorite to win the whole thing. They have an elite offense on their day, and defensively they can lock in when needed. The issue is oftentimes their own belief in themselves. They are such a good team that they know how good of a team they are and that can make them complacent. Maybe they decide not to get in their chair and slide side to side one night, and I'll be honest if there's a team you have to lock in for it's NC State. I'm sure offensively Kamila Cardoso will still get hers, and the team will be as efficient as ever. But they can't afford to take a night off.
NC State is absolutely good enough to beat out South Carolina. They already took down one 1 seed, what's another? This team's offense is explosive led by Aziaha James, who's been averaging 16.7 points per game on 41.8% shooting from the field. If South Carolina is not careful she could easily find herself with a 30 burger quick. Also going in the Wolfpack's favor is the fact that they are battle-tested. To get to the final four NC State had to go through the sixth seed, second seed, and first seed. South Carolina has simply not faced the same level of competition up to this point in the tournament. I'm lovin' the upset here.
