FOX is bringing back Special Forces: World's Toughest Test this fall, and the new cast includes a mix of athletes, actors, reality stars and one very unexpected former politician.

Season 5 premieres Sept. 24 and will feature former NBA player Matt Barnes, former NFL running back LeSean McCoy and undisputed super lightweight boxing champion Alycia Baumgardner among the celebrity recruits attempting to survive one of television's toughest reality competitions.
The full cast also includes Candace Cameron Bure, David Charvet, Brandi Glanville, Collin Gosselin, Oliver Hudson, Olympic figure skater Maxim Naumov, Ruby Rose, Hannah Stocking, Breana Tiesi, Alexia Umansky, Mauricio Umansky and former Congressman George Santos.
This season moves the action to the jungles of Malaysia, where contestants will face physically and mentally demanding challenges inspired by real Special Forces selection training.
According to FOX, recruits will be tasked with everything from searching underground bunkers and hauling supplies hundreds of feet above the jungle floor to enduring chemical gas exposure during military-style exercises.
Unlike many reality competition shows, there are no fan votes or traditional eliminations. Contestants leave only if they voluntarily quit, suffer an injury or are removed by the show's directing staff.
For sports fans, Barnes, McCoy and Baumgardner will likely draw plenty of attention as they test themselves outside their respective arenas. But if past seasons are any indication, athletic ability alone doesn't guarantee success once the physical exhaustion, sleep deprivation and mental pressure begin to pile up.
Special Forces: World's Toughest Test returns to FOX on Sept. 24, with episodes streaming the following day on Hulu.
