Hayden Panettiere's career stretched across television, horror movies, dramas and comedies. But sports fans may remember another interesting part of her résumé.

Panettiere, who died Aug. 16 at age 36, appeared in four notable sports-themed movies during a six-year stretch early in her career.
It started with "Remember the Titans" in 2000. Panettiere was just 10 when she played Sheryl Yoast, the football-obsessed daughter of assistant coach Bill Yoast in the Denzel Washington classic. Years later, Panettiere called it her favorite movie she'd ever made and said she'd happily return to that period of her life.
Five years later came "Racing Stripes." Panettiere starred as Channing "Chan" Walsh, an aspiring jockey who rides Stripes, a zebra convinced he can become a racehorse. She spent months filming in South Africa and trained on horseback for the role.
Also in 2005, Panettiere traded the racetrack for the rink in Disney's "Ice Princess." She played competitive figure skater Gennifer "Gen" Harwood opposite Michelle Trachtenberg and learned to skate for the movie, performing much of her own skating.
Then came "Bring It On: All or Nothing" in 2006. Panettiere starred as Britney Allen, a cheerleader who transfers schools and joins a new squad. The movie also featured Solange Knowles and an appearance by Rihanna.
She later said she was amazed by the lasting enthusiasm surrounding the film and the reactions she continued to receive from fans.

For an actress whose career went in plenty of different directions, Panettiere quietly put together quite the sports-movie run.
