Hudson shared the news in a message posted to social media, admitting the unexpected career change comes with plenty of uncertainty.
"Unfortunately, I recently learned that NESN will not be renewing my contract," Hudson wrote. "While this isn't the outcome I had hoped for, I'm incredibly thankful for the opportunity to learn, grow, and begin building relationships within one of the most passionate and respected sports markets in the world."
She acknowledged that the next chapter won't be easy.
"The next steps are admittedly a little scary," Hudson added. "This industry can be unpredictable, and there's always uncertainty when one chapter comes to an end, but I remain hopeful and excited for what's ahead."
Hudson joined NESN in January 2025 as a general assignment reporter, covering the Boston Bruins, Boston Red Sox and other events throughout New England. She also serves as an NHL analyst and storyteller for CBS Sports.
In her farewell message, Hudson thanked Boston fans for embracing her during her time with the network.
"To the fans: Thank you!! Your unwavering passion for your teams is unlike anything else," she wrote. "I only wish I had more time to continue earning your trust and becoming a larger part of this incredible community."
Hudson also expressed gratitude to the coworkers and behind-the-scenes staff who helped her along the way, saying she's proud of what she accomplished and optimistic about whatever opportunity comes next.
"Boston will always hold a special place in my heart," she wrote. "Thank you for everything."
