Someone falls asleep on live TV during Eagles postgame show, snoring reveals

There was not much energy inside Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday, and apparently it carried over to the postgame show.

The Philadelphia Eagles closed the regular season with a thud, resting starters in a Week 18 loss to the Washington Commanders despite still having a path to the No. 2 seed. The result was a quarterback matchup featuring Tanner McKee for Philadelphia and veteran journeyman Josh Johnson for Washington. It played about how it looked on paper.

And then came the postgame.

Viewers watching Eagles Postgame Live on NBC Sports Philadelphia were treated to something unexpected. An audible snore. Not a quick sound bite. Not a joke. An actual, sustained snore that went on for minutes, as relayed by Awful Announcing.

The heavy breathing started almost immediately after host Michael Barkann introduced reporters Ashlyn Sullivan and Dave Zangaro. From there, it only escalated. The snoring was clear, consistent, and very real.

What made it even more remarkable was that no one stepped in. Barkann was on set, joined by Barrett Brooks, Ron Jaworski, Jason Avant, and Reuben Frank. All were mic'd. All were present. And yet the mystery snoozer remained undisturbed as the segment rolled on.

Whether it was an on-air personality or someone off camera, it was not subtle. It also was not short. Producers, co-hosts, anyone with a headset had plenty of time to intervene. Instead, the broadcast powered through while someone slept soundly on live television.

It was fitting, in a way. The Eagles treated the finale like an exhibition. The game lacked juice. And somewhere in the studio, someone apparently decided the season could end with a nap.

Hard to argue with the logic.
