Alabama commit booted from high school team under mysterious circumstances

This seems less than ideal.

Four-star linebacker and top senior in Palm Beach County VanDarius Cowan has been kicked off his high school team. Cowan is an Alabama commit, but that situation might be fluid with this news.

The Palm Beach Post believes that his dismissal from the team comes from bad behavior during Palm Beach Gardens' game against Wellington. The coach took Cowan out of the game in the first quarter following two bad penalties that helped out the opponent.

He was seen eating on the sidelines after he was taken out of the game and was seen talking to fans through the fence behind the bench. That resulted in a 12-10 loss for the PBG Gators and a shot at the District 9-8A title.

Cowan is the No. 4 outside linebacker in the class of 2017. He was selected first-team All-Area last season after recording 102 tackles.
