Alabama's celebration is short-lived after the extent of key defender's injury is released

Devastating news.

Alabama's thrashing of Texas A&M could only be dampened by the injury of standout defensive back Eddie Jackson, who reportedly suffered a fractured leg and is now out for the season.

Jackson suffered the injury after fielding a punt and was later carted off the field.

Jackson had 21 tackles on the season and one interception return for a touchdown. But he was a vital piece of the special teams unit, returning two punts for a touchdown on the year.

Jackson previously suffered an ACL tear in 2014.

Alabama has an off week before matching up with LSU on November 5.
