Auburn surprisingly lost offensive coordinator Rhett Lashlee on Wednesday when he decided to make a questionable decision and take the same position at UConn. It's not only a premature move —- as he was about to be working with former Baylor stud Jarrett Stidham as his QB —- but it's a clear move down.

Quickly after Lashlee's departure there were rumors that former disgraced Baylor coach Art Briles might have a shot at the Lashlee's position after being out of a job for a year.
Of course, Briles was fired after the cover up of a huge sexual assault scandal was discovered by the school in 2015. Some people thought that Briles had been gone from the game long enough for that blemish to calm down, but ESPN's Brett McMurphy says Briles isn't close to getting the Auburn job at all:
It's probably the right call as Auburn just needs to focus on winning games and having a potent offense rather than the off-field questions that will arise from Briles' presence.
