RELATED: New reports emerge detailing how Aqib Talib suffered his gun shot wound

Denver Broncos corner Aqib Talib just made his return to the practice field Monday after having suffered a self-inflicted gun shot wound earlier this year in June. His return may be short-lived though, as ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Talib may be on his way toward a lengthy suspension.

From 104.3 The FAN:

"I remember initially speaking to somebody, and we were discussing the situation. And we were discussing it in a hypothetical way, because we do not know the exact facts of the situation. It's a mystery. But the person I was talking to said, 'I don't see how this is less than 8 games.'"

Here's Schefter's full interview with 104.3 The Fan:

If precedence means anything, former Giants receiver Plaxico Burress was suspended four games in 2008 when he accidentally shot himself in a nightclub during the season.

Talib recorded 36 tackles and three interceptions (two returned for touchdowns) in 15 games for Denver last season.
