The Michigan Wolverines already recruit at an obscenely high level under Jim Harbaugh. However, the always entertaining head coach recently came under fire for making a move to hire Mike Johnson, who happens to be the father of the top dual-threat quarterback in the Class of 2019. While recruiting may have had very little to do with that maneuver considering Johnson's lengthy coaching pedigree, it might not matter after all.

Bruce Feldman brings word that Johnson will not, in fact, be heading to Ann Arbor but rather taking a position on the Oregon coaching staff under Willie Taggart. On the Oregon side, this would be a huge move, if only because Johnson brings 20 years of high-level coaching acumen to the staff. Beyond that, his (very) talented son might be even in a better fit in Eugene and that can't be ignored.
For Michigan, this is obviously a blow but the Wolverines have had no trouble (and no budget) when it comes to luring high-end assistants to work under Harbaugh. The takes from people such as Paul Finebaum were blazing hot when word broke that Johnson would be joining forces with Harbaugh but, now, we'll have to see if the same heat comes on Taggart and Oregon.
