There are few recruits who know exactly where they want to go to school and play football, but C.J. Lewis is not like most recruits. The quarterback out of Cheshire Academy in Connecticut had been wanting an offer from Tennessee because he thought the Vols would provide him with the best opportunity to play pretty soon.

The three-star QB had been waiting on an offer from the Vols for months and pounced on the opportunity when the coaching staff finally extended him the offer. The No. 30 dual-threat quarterback in the class of 2017 said he really liked the family atmosphere with the staff.
"Me and the coaching staff have a great relationship, and I felt like that was going to be home for me. I like what they do with their quarterbacks. They try to use their legs and arm, and I'm good at both. And I think that I can strive at Tennessee. If I put my heart into it and work hard, go full speed, I think I can be that guy."
The 6'4", 205-pound QB is ranked as the No. 8 recruit in the state of Connecticut and had offers from UConn, Buffalo and Boston College before settling on Tennessee.
