Five-star center Brandon McCoy makes surprising commitment to non-contender

That is a heck of a recruiting job.

Brandon McCoy was one of the last remaining five-star recruits in the class of 2017 and is finally done holding out. He was down to Michigan State, Arizona, San Diego State Oregon and UNLV in his recruitment and he chose the most surprising one of them all.

The 6'11", 244-pound center is ranked as the No. 4 at his position and No. 15 overall player in the class by ESPN. McCoy easily becomes the highest rated member of the Runnin' Rebels' class as no one is rated above two stars for them. He will likely be a one-and-done considering UNLV does not exactly jump off the page as far as having a history goes and making the tournament consistently.
