Five-star point guard Trae Young sets decision date

Someone's going to miss out on a visit here.

Five-star point guard Trae Young has six finalists vying for his services and it looks like those schools now have an idea of when they'll find out if they won the recruiting battle or not. The 6'1" and No. 2 point guard in the 2017 class has Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Kansas, Kentucky, Texas Tech and Washington in the mix.

Young knows that one school won't get an official visit since the NCAA only grants high school athletes five visits. He still has to figure out which school will miss out and when he's taking his visits.

"My family and I will sit down soon and come up with when we'll start taking official visits. I only get five official visits, so one school won't get an official visit. So I'll just be setting those up, so I can get out there and learn as much as I can about those guys. I want to take some during football season. I don't know if I want to wait too long. I'd like to make a decision around December. That's what I'm looking at, but anything can happen."

Young has long talked about becoming a package deal with Nike EYBL teammate Michael Porter Jr. who has already committed to Washington. However, Young has said that he will make the best decision for him and not necessarily him and Porter going forward. So don't count on Washington to secure a package deal quite yet.
