Florida is headed back to Atlanta thanks to incredible goal line stand

What a play!

Florida's red zone defense was phenomenal throughout the game against LSU and forced a key turnover as the Tigers were driving early in the game. That would come in handy again as the Gators were up 16-10 with only about three minutes left and LSU drove the field to the one-yard line.

However, that stout defense got yet another stop on four straight downs to to preserve the win and a trip to Atlanta for the SEC Championship Game.

Florida and Alabama will meet for the second straight year and the win means Florida sets the record for most appearances in the title game since its inception in 1992.

With so many guys out on both sides of the ball, Florida entered the game as a two-touchdown underdog, but showed it's not afraid to play anywhere at any time.

Here are the players who didn't get to play because of injury:

  • LB Jarrad Davis
  • LB Alex Anzalone
  • DB Marcus Maye
  • Center Cam Dillard
  • QB Luke Del Rio
  • DL Justus Reed
  • DL Bryan Cox Jr.
  • OL Antonio Riles

The win was the first for Florida in Baton Rouge since 2009.
