Monk Bonasorte was a phenomenal football player in his time at Florida State lettering from 1977 to 1980 as a safety, but sadly has passed away. He was also a legend within the athletic department having served as the Senior Associate Athletics Director for the past nine years. He also served on FSU's executive athletic staff with oversight of internal operations as well as oversight of Florida State's football and women's soccer programs. He also supervised equipment, athletic training, coach's video and strength and conditioning.

He was a constant presence in the FSU athletics department and in the community overall. He was the president and executive director of FSU's Varsity Club and he held other positions for organizations in the Tallahassee area.
He ranked second in school history with 15 career pass interceptions, and his eight interceptions in 1979 ranks as the second highest total in school history. He was inducted into the FSU Athletics Hall of Fame in 1995.
He is survived by his wife Beverly and his sons TJ and Rocky.
