Former FSU quarterback De'Andre Johnson enters plea deal for July altercation with woman

De'Andre Johnson was formally dismissed from the FSU football team on July 6.

Former Florida State quarterback De'Andre Johnson has entered a plea deal for the July incident during which he was seen on surveillance video punching a woman at a Tallahassee nightclub. Johnson was booted from the Florida State football team shortly after the video was released to the public on July 6. Johnson has since enrolled at East Mississippi Community College for the fall semester.

Johnson entered the plea deal with the for the incident on Thursday. Per the Tallahassee Democrat, Johnson will participate in a 10-day sheriff's work program in the state of Florida and serve six months of probation. He also pleaded guilty, and will pay about $700 in court fees and provide $199.98 of restitution to the victim as part of the deal. His punishment will be completed in Florida, not Mississippi.

"He hasn't gotten into any trouble since then and prior to this incident," Johnson's lawyer Jose Baez told the Tallahassee Democrat. "Everyone who knows De'Andre will clearly tell you this is something that was very out of character."
