Four-star quarterback Danny Clark (6-foot-4, 225 pounds, Akron, OH) had been committed to Ohio State since 2013, but it looks like Clark will officially look for new suitors in his recruitment.
The key part of Clark's statement:
"In the past few months, I have been forced to accept that the fact that as a pro style QB, maybe my style of play would be a good fit elsewhere. At first I couldn't accept it. I spent a lot of nights crying and praying for an answer that I thought I already knew. But sometimes the writing is on the wall, and you just have to read through the tears to see what it says. It is with a very heavy heart and with a clear conscience that I am officially decommitting from OSU.
This seems like it was a very tough decision for Clark to make. He's right that Ohio State probably isn't the best destination for an Urban Meyer coached team, but it really looks like his heart was set on becoming a Buckeye.
Since Clark had been committed to Ohio State for so long, he really doesn't have any offers. He will have to wait for those to pour in before making a decision, and he should be able to land offers from several top schools.
Clark is a class of 2017 recruit and is rated a four-star by Scout. His decommit trims Ohio State's 2017 class to 17 commitments.
