Who says first-year head coaches can't recruit? Georgia head coach Kirby Smart got a huge win on the recruiting trail on Thursday as 2017 four-star quarterback Jake Fromm (6-foot-3, 220 pounds, Warner Robins, Ga.) announced he would be flipping his verbal commitment from Alabama to Georgia. Fromm, who had been verbally committed to the Tide since last October, took to Twitter to announce the flip.

Fromm, if he keeps his commitment will join former five-star quarterback prospect Jacob Eason, who early enrolled at UGA this past January. Given that Eason is already on campus and Smart has locked down a quarterback for the class of 2017, this is a nice pick-up that will add much-needed depth at the position moving forward. According to 247Sports, Fromm is the No. 4 ranked pro-style quarterback in the 2017 class. Alabama on the other hand will have to head back to the drawing board for its 2017 class, as Fromm was the only quarterback commit in the class.
