Houston to interview five candidates, including the worst in college football

Well this just got interesting.

It looks like Houston has narrowed down their coaching search to five guys, and one of them is probably the worst possible candidate right now.

According to ESPN, Houston is set to interview the following candidates for the head coaching gig: Alabama offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin, former LSU coach Les Miles, Houston assistants Todd Orlando and Major Applewhite, and.... former Houston and Baylor head coach Art Briles.

Obviously Briles has some connections with the school as a former coach, but his name is so toxic right now after the sexual assault scandal that occured at Baylor. Briles was unceremoniously fired from Baylor back in May, and despite his success on the football field in the past, teams have been keeping their distance from here.

However, it appears that Briles has enough going for him that he is not just being considered, but that he is actually getting an interview likely means that he has a legitimate shot at getting the job.

Houston reportedly hopes to have a new head coach by next week, so this process could move quickly.
