The hype train for Jabrill Peppers has been running for nearly two years, but in advance of the 2016 season, things are really heating up. Michigan's transcendent "linebacker" is expected to contribute in all three phases for Jim Harbaugh and company this season, and before the campaign kicks off, Peppers is featured on the cover of this week's Sports Illustrated.

It should be noted that this cover is of the "regional" variety, but it is no coincidence that Peppers is displayed prominently. In fact, the cover comes along with a prediction that Michigan will reach this year's College Football Playoff.
SI.com reports that this particular cover will be sent to "Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Delaware, Connecticut, Maryland, Washington DC, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Virginia, Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, Wisconsin, South Dakota, Nebraska and Eastern Missouri", meaning that Peppers will receive a considerable amount of attention for his versatile approach.
The Wolverines will open the season on Sept. 3 against Hawaii, but with expectations soaring for a potential run to the playoff, all eyes are already on Michigan. Jabrill Peppers is the most talented player on a very talented roster, and given the amount of playing time and exposure he will receive, a darkhorse Heisman candidacy could also be in the works.
